One of the first things we unpacked were our kitchen supplies. Obviously.

Because we (already) needed a break from all the boxes and stuff, we went apple picking. We had a lot of fun, although Yuki didn’t like it when I climbed up a ladder for a moment. But there was this one really nice, big red, ‘straight out of a fairytale’ apple that was just out of reach. So I had no choice.
We shared it when we got home and it was delicious, so I think all is forgiven ᵔᴥᵔ

Of course we picked too many apples for just the two of us, so I thought I’d bake a couple of apple pies. One for us (okay, just me) and one for our new neighbour.

The amazing by-product of baking apple pie is that your whole house smells like a home in an instant.
A win-win in my book!

We took the apple pie (still a bit warm) next door to introduce ourselves and here we had another win: we live next to the sweetest lady, named Mimi.
Mimi told us she’d lived here for a long time and is happy to show us around the neighbourhood some time next week.

We also turned some of the apples into (sugar free) applesauce to put in the freezer for later.

Even though we’re not at all settled in yet (hello, boxes), it was a very successful first few days here.

What have you been up to these days?
Did you do something to celebrate fall?

I’m glad that you have a nice neighbour and that she is going to show you around. Wish we could have some apple pie too, sounds delicious!
